Men Without Women, Per Hemingway

here they were between races
sitting at a table in the patio
Racing Form there
one of the fellows dealt the cards
then they both picked up their
hands
arranged their cards.
fellows like that
didn’t even need a woman
they were hooked on the other kind
of action

when the horses came out for the
post parade
they didn’t even look up.
well, there’s a 30 minute wait between
races and
it keeps you away from
the bar.
