she came in on a taxi
completely intoxicated
after one of my days as a
May Co. stockboy
and I sat there
sucking at
beercans and my
cheap wine
looking at her
in her rumpled demise
spread across the bed
skirt hiked high

I sucked at my drinks
then walked over
to the bed and lifted
her skirt higher…
such a sight
those glorious legs
uncovered and helpless

I stood there looking
then began
and as I did
she opened her eyes
but I kept going

I made it while she

she was the woman with
the great legs

we had tremendous fun
and agony together

but she got to
she died

haven’t seen such
haven’t stopped

I want to bring all of Bukowski's poems online and make then freely available. This means hundreds of hours of work to retype over 1,000 of his poems from the original manuscripts. Your donations will help support this work.
