for Linda–

between the Santa Ana freeway and heaven
lies the golden white body

a bucket of tears
sits
between the telephone and the
electric shaver

each night is an alone night for
every person

the sliders glide

crickets
things of hardly any chance
stuck into our same moment
creep upon leaves

right now
through songs and promises

it’s 69 degrees in
Hollywood, California.

I want to bring all of Bukowski's poems online and make then freely available. This means hundreds of hours of work to retype over 1,000 of his poems from the original manuscripts. Your donations will help support this work.
