Ezra’s pretty tough

there are thousands of English lit grads
who think they will replace Ezra
or e.e. or T.S.
when the best thing that will happen
to them
is that they will end up cashiers
in a Safeway checkout line
and they will ask you
(under company directive)
“How are you today?”
and get no answer at
all.
